Communion

Claire Goldrick was born in Washington D.C. and currently resides in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She has been featured in Art of the West magazine and her works hang in mumerous collections throughout the country. COMMUNION is the first of a series of Biblically related paintings and published prints.

"COMMUNION is a reporduction of a vision I received in the midst of a Bible study in November, 1988, at the height of an intense discussion, even debate, over the meaning of Scriptures in Collossians, chapter 3, specifically the verses pertaining to the earthly nature of man and the 'coming wrath of God'. The vision was very clear and colorful and I was given the sense that the faces in the background constituted the 'Body' of Christ, past and present. However, I was slow in coming to an understanding of the message of the vision, and over the next six months I gradually realized that the image is calling ut to a unity in fellowship as the Body of Christ, putting aside our disagreements over interpretations of Scriptures in favor of simply living a life of commitment to Christ and to one another in Christ."
